About Me
I’m Louise O’Connor‑Boyd, an independent advocate supporting individuals living with complex and often misunderstood conditions.
My work focuses on helping people communicate clearly, prepare for appointments, understand their options, and feel heard within healthcare settings. I understand how overwhelming medical settings can be, particularly for those who have had difficult experiences with healthcare in the past.
My Background
I bring both professional experience and lived experience to this work. I supported my daughter through a long and complex journey to diagnosis and treatment, attending countless hospital appointments across multiple specialties.
Through this process I developed a deep understanding of the challenges people face when seeking answers for rare conditions – particularly the emotional, practical and communication barriers that can arise when symptoms are complex and not always well understood.
Experience with Neurodivergent Individuals
I also have a professional background supporting neurodivergent individuals and their families. This has given me a strong awareness of the importance of reasonable adjustments, sensory needs, and communication styles that help people feel safe and understood.
